This weeks enviro tip is to participate in Earth Hour tonight. Earth Hour started 7 years ago in Sydney, now more then 162 countries and 7000 cities and towns do Earth Hour. Earth Hour is now the worlds largest mass participation event in the world! In 2014 hundreds of millions of people participated in Earth Hour! Its no longer just an hour to take a stand against climate change. Now Earth Hour does projects to reduce climate change. Its projects are across 154 contries. I believe that Climate Change and Palm Oil are the two greatest threats facing our environment. Our world is heating up, the ice caps are melting. Climate change could affect sea turtle breeding as the sand temperature determines whether the hatchlings will be male or female. This is making more females than males. Climate Change also affects the Great Barrier Reef by heating up the water and this causes the coral to bleach (die). In fact 50% of all the coral on the Great Barrier Reef is already dead and some other reefs are already dead. So please participate tonight 28th of March at 8:30pm-9:30pm by turning off all your lights and electricity.
